We have now moved to Commercial Mode. We are live as of July 3! Our platform role

Editorial Standards

Finance-adjacent content has to earn trust. These are the standards we hold our guides, reference articles, and data to, so readers and the people who rely on us know exactly how our content is made.

How we research

We start from primary sources: public company filings, government incentive schedules, regulator guidance, and published industry data. Where a claim depends on a specific figure or rule, we trace it back to the document it came from rather than restating secondhand summaries. We favor durable references over transient commentary so guidance holds up over time.

How we source

Definitions and mechanics are grounded in established industry practice and documented agreements. When we describe a structure such as a recoupment waterfall or a tax incentive, we describe the general framework, note that terms vary deal by deal, and point readers to where the authoritative detail lives. We do not present any single example as universal.

How we review

Every piece is written by a named editorial function and reviewed against these standards before publication. Review checks that claims are supported, that language is informational rather than promotional, and that nothing reads as advice or a promise of outcome. Content is dated so readers can judge its currency.

Our compliance commitment

These commitments govern everything we publish and are not optional stylistic choices:

  • FILM.FUND is a software and workflow platform. It is not a broker-dealer, not an investment adviser, not an escrow agent, and not the issuer of any offering.
  • We do not provide investment, legal, or tax advice, and nothing we publish should be read as a recommendation to buy, sell, or fund anything.
  • We do not predict returns, forecast performance, or characterize any project as a good or bad opportunity. Content explains how things work; it does not judge merit.
  • We describe general frameworks and note that real terms vary. We do not present illustrative figures as guarantees.

Correction policy

We aim to be accurate, and when we fall short we fix it in the open. If you believe something we published is wrong or out of date, tell us and we will review it against the underlying source.

  • Substantive corrections are made promptly once verified, and the content carries an updated date.
  • We correct the record rather than quietly deleting it, so readers can see that content is actively maintained.
  • If a rule or rate we cited has changed, we update the figure and its source reference together.

How we verify currency and rates

Where content references currencies, exchange rates, tax incentive percentages, or other figures that change over time, we treat them as living data, not fixed facts.

  • Rate-sensitive figures are checked against their official source, such as a government incentive schedule or a published rate, and dated when shown.
  • We note when a figure is indicative and direct readers to the authoritative source for the current value before they act on it.
  • Currency conversions are presented as reference estimates, not settlement values, because real rates move throughout the day.
